EBIO-METRONICS EMR is unique in the sense that there are no particular requirements for the hardware to work with our system. It is a browser based system, and the main application runs on Linux operating system. All the data is stored on the main server. So for the workstations there are no minimum requirements, as long they can browse intranet through the network.
Here is a typical hard ware requirement for a practice with up to 30 users.
1- Work stations: Work with any computer which has browsing capabilities.
2- Document Scanner: Fujitsu scanner fi 6230. Typical cost is around $1300. It is fast scanner and scans up to 40-50 b&W pages per min @ 150 DPI.It can be ordered from www.pcrush.com
3- Camera: It is used to take patient"s pictures. Recommended model is logitech quickcam Orbit AF webcam. It a fun camera to work with, as it is fully motorized. It typically costs around $110. It can also be ordered from www.pcrush.com
4- Card Scanner: This scanner is used for scanning insurance cards, forms and driver licences etc. It can be bought from from Ambir technologies. The recommended model is DS 487-AS. It is a duplex scanner which scans both cards as well as documents. Typical cost is around $349. It can be ordered from www.ambir.com .
5- Printer: Any network printer will work.
6- Server: If you buy from DELL, the server model is Power Edge T610 (Tower Chassis)
